Spring 2024 Fiction Incubator

Meets Online, Either Monday or Tuesday Nights, January–April 2024

I’m excited to offer a 4-Month Fiction Incubator this spring. As with the ones I’ve offered in the past, this online workshop, taught by me, is designed to be an intimate and supportive space for writers who are looking for the deadlines, structure, and community to help them prioritize writing among the busyness of daily life.

This Class Offers:

  • 3 deadlines/opportunities to turn in, including one week of up to 50 pages, so that you produce 100 new pages of material

  • Line notes and editorial letter from me along with group feedback

  • One-on-one conference with me

  • Discussions of MFA programs, conferences, craft, and publishing

  • An intimate group of 6 writers to foster supportive community and chance to share about process

Cost

The cost of the class is $325/month, or $1250 if you pay up front.

There is a sliding scale for anyone who needs it. The sliding scale for this class is: $250/month; $175/month; $100/month.

Latinx Writers Grant

I'm thrilled to announce that, due to generous funding from a former student and colleague, we are able to offer a grant to support one Latinx writer who is not currently enrolled in a degree-granting creative writing program. It will cover the full cost of one spot in this workshop, and the potential for additional forms of writing support from the funder of the grant.

If you would like to apply for this grant, just select "yes" on the application when you apply for the class, and add a few sentences about how a grant is helpful to you in this moment of your writing journey.
