
8-Week Spring Workshop
with Ted Thompson
Meets Online, Tuesday Nights, April–May 2022
This workshop meets online weekly in April and May 2022. Jumpstart and invigorate your writing with thoughtful and careful reading of your peers' work and snappy deadlines for your own projects. You'll leave with a burst of creative momentum and a strong sense of where to go with your projects moving forward. Limited to eight writers, this class will provide the opportunity to submit new writing (up to 20 pages) two times in a relatively short period.
This Class Offers:
8 meetings/sessions (2.5 hours each), with no more than 8 participants
Two opportunities to submit pages and receive feedback within a short timeframe to invigorate your projects and creative process
A one-on-one conference with the instructor
Cost
The cost of the class is $240/month, or $450 if you pay in advance.
To ensure my classes are accessible to as many writers as possible, there is a sliding scale for anyone who is accepted and needs it, no questions asked. The sliding scale for this class is: $200/month; $140/month; $100/month; $80/month; $40/month. So regardless of your resources, please apply. We'll work something out.

About the Instructor
Ted Thompson has been working with writers as a teacher, editor, and manuscript consultant for over a decade. In addition to Longhand, he teaches in the Brooklyn College MFA Program and for Sackett Street Writers' Workshop.
His novel The Land of Steady Habits was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and was adapted into a film for Netflix. He was a finalist for the 2021 National Magazine Award in Fiction.
He received an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and lives in Brooklyn with his family. To learn more about Ted, see here.
